RapidSwitch the company who manages one of iNet’s dedicated Linux servers has been bought out. iNet reserves its RapidSwitch server for those web hosting clients that value the need for an SLA, firewall protection, regular tape back-ups and a 100% network uptime guarantee, to ensure the security and uptime of their website.

We’ve been with RapidSwitch for about 6 months having moved our dedicated server hosting from RackSpace.

Early this month, RapidSwitch announced that it had been acquired by the iomart Group PLC for a nice tidy cash sum. iomart is the parent company of a few other hosting providers, most notably Easyspace.

How this move will effect future services remains to be seen. Hopefully for the better.
