iomart accel­er­ates man­aged host­ing growth with acquis­i­tion of RapidSwitch

Rap­idSwitch the com­pany who man­ages one of iNet’s ded­ic­ated Linux serv­ers has been bought out. iNet reserves its Rap­idSwitch server for those web host­ing cli­ents that value the need for an SLA, fire­wall pro­tec­tion, reg­u­lar tape back-ups and a 100% net­work uptime guar­an­tee, to ensure the secur­ity and uptime of their website.

We’ve been with Rap­idSwitch for about 6 months hav­ing moved our ded­ic­ated server host­ing from Rack­Space.

Early this month, Rap­idSwitch announced that it had been acquired by the iomart Group PLC for a nice tidy cash sum. iomart is the par­ent com­pany of a few other host­ing pro­viders, most not­ably Easyspace.

How this move will effect future ser­vices remains to be seen. Hope­fully for the better.
